2014 Spa 24 Hours Live Stream

No comments:

If the sounds of F1 have got you down, this week end you might check in with 66th running of the Blancpain Endurance Series Total 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

The race proper will start Saturday at 4:30 PM CET  10:30AM ET.   It will be streamed live HERE.

Kevin Estre was fastest in pre-qualifying

Parades, support races  and qualifying have already started.   Quickest in pre-Qualifying was the ART Grand Prix Mclaren  driven by Kevin Estre with a time of 2:20.944.    ART was not so happy about its other car which was destroyed by Alvaro Parente at Pouhon.  The team have said they will rebuild a car for the race.

Right behind the Mclaren was Italy's ROAL Motorsport BMW Z4 driven by Stefano Colombo, running in the Pro/Am class.

Top eight drivers were within 2/10ths thanks in part  to adjustments in the BoP index for this race which hopes to keep, Mclaren, Bentley, Ferrari, BMW, Mercedes Porsche Larborghini, Astons and Nissans all playing nice together.

Goodwood Festival of Speed Live: Day 1

No comments:

The Program has concluded for the day, Tune in tomorrow here on Axis from 8:30 AM UK time (3:30 AM EST),  There is a full program until 6:30 PM (1:30 EST)

Goodwood Festival of Speed day 2 (Friday) HERE

Axis of Oversteer was selected to carry the Goodwood Festival of Speed, live over the next four days.  Tune in to watch all the activities as they happen.

The list of cars and drivers running up Lord March's hill this year is amazing as usual.  From a 1911 Fiat S76 that was last driven 100 years ago to this year's Audi le Mans winning car.

Hopefully the technology works and you can sit back and enjoy the proceedings.   Keep in mind it's all happening BST so if you are in the US, tune in early.

I wonder if other racing series and events are paying attention here:  rather than fighting the internet, Goodwood is providing live video streams.  This way they control their product while gaining exposure and making fans very happy.

Forward thinking from classic racing!

Hungarian GP, Friday Practice wrap up

No comments:
Hungary may be a lousy place for racing but it was a great place to watch practice and, tomorrow, qualifying.

The twisty track is extremely demanding, there are some 50 gearshifts pr lap and the cars are constantly changing direction. You could see how much the cars are moving around and I think tire wear is going to play a big role here.

Controlling power oversteer will be key and perhaps Mclaren's engine mapping "traction control" strategy will be the deciding factor. Mclaren was clearly the class of the field and Hamilton unrivaled in sectors one and two. From the top speed data, Hamilton was a full 4 kph faster than everyone elsein the speed trap meaning he's able to get on the throttle much sooner out of the last turn.

Great day for Renault and especially Piquet who once again finds himself just ahead of Fernando Alonso on the time sheets.

Ferrari looked once again on the back foot. Raikkonen seemed uneven with his lines and made a number of obvious errors.

But, tomorrow is when it really counts, join us for qualifying at 8AM.
