Casey Stoner was the man in the inaugural 2011 MotoGP under the lights of the Losail circuit in Quatar. He beat out Jorge Lorenzo on the Yamaha and Dani Pedrosa on the other Honda. Valentino Rossi, after a great start ended up seventh, fighting a nasty handling Ducati and pain from his recent shoulder operation.

Its being said that the HRC bikes can shift gears in as little as 8ms while the Yamaha takes 27ms the ducati on the other hands takes an astounding 42ms to the do the same job. Rossi has quite a job on his hands with the red bikes.
ReplyDeleteYes Ducati's change from 2007 in the performance hierarchy is quite surprising. I guess that year their biggest advantage was electronics, and now the other teams have all caught up.
