BMW-Rahal build tough race cars: flat tires, collisions, spins were just tossed aside with the team scoring a convincing 1-2 finish in GT at 2011 12 hours of Sebring.
The 56 BMW M3 of Priaulx, Mueller and Hand crossed the line first followed by the 55 of Farfus, Auberlen and Werner. Amazing considering that the 56 seemed to have a special trouble magnet installed yesterday and that both cars ended with a few pieces missing. No problem though, these M3 are to be built to last! Well done RLR!
The biggest disappointment would have to be the debut of the Ferrari GT2 458 Italia which just did not show the speed which off season tests showed its capable of. Not sure if this had to do with the delays in delivery of the cars to the teams or to restrictions ALMS might have imposed on it.
In prototype LMP1, nice win for the "underdog" Peugeot from Oreca-Malmut, in last year's car.
