GP2 traffic jam in Monaco.

No comments:

It would not be GP2 in Monaco without some sort of Maldonado inspired shenanigans....yup, pretty much the entire field got stuck at the hairpin.

Also, I wonder if any of the F1 boys will try Stefano Coletti's move to pass where nobody expected. The move between Rascasse and Noghes worked twice, brilliantly for Coletti putting him up to second place...but then his luck ran out.

Schumacher testing in a GP2.

Schumacher got some cobwebs out today at Jerez in a Team Supernova GP2 car. Looks like he's keeping the red helmet?

How to crash with style.

No comments:
How do you get Pole Position and crash at the same time? That's crashing with style and that was Bruno Senna qualifying for today's GP2 race at Magny Cours France. Check it out.

Freejack!

Huge crash in today's GP2 race at Magny Cours.

Reports are that Ernesto Viso got away from this one with just a broken arm and no marshalls were hurt.

Lucky because for a second there it looked like he was off to meet Mick Jagger in 2009!

UPDATE:

This accident happened in a full course yellow situation, there should have been no passing at all. Someone is going to get a serious talking to, hopefully.

Rookie

No comments:
When CG and I were in Monaco for the GP last year, we saw Lewis Hamilton dominate GP2. The race was pretty boring but I remember noticing how Hamilton would place his car on the track within millimeters lap after lap after lap. Even in a field of very good drivers he stood out for that and his "no drama" style, almost boring.
We'll see what happens today in qualifying down in Australia, but a rookie coming to a track he has never seen and setting 3rd fastest time and beating his team mate (who just happens to be one Fernando Alonso) is pretty impressive. Jenson must be wondering...

...we'll never hear the end of this one.

1 comment:

...whatever side of the latest Michael Schumacher controversy you fall on (and the Axis is devided on this one), for sure this will make motoring journalists and conspiracy theorists happy for years to come. But the reality is stark: three monegasque stewards without any actual F1 driving experience who interpreted telemetry in order to have a legal basis for a decision the other teams and the press clamored for.... dodgy at best. This will make it possible to question absolutely everything in the future and we will have F1 decided by lawyers. Pathetic.

Anyhow, you can SEE A SLIDESHOW FROM SATURDAY QUALIFYING HERE.

There was also a dull GP2 RACE and an extremely entertaining PORSCHE SUPERCUP race featuring Colin McRae and Bruno Senna.
Colin did well, I loved that he wore his WRC open face helmet. Bruno Senna was not so lucky and he got caught in the first lap melee and was out.
