NürburgFAIL

May I suggest an "Occupy the 'Ring" movement? Problem is you can't put the genie back in the bottle, they can't tear down the deserted mall and the non working roller coaster, stop sucking tourists dry and return to the simple days of steak on stone and easy rentals. I don't really see a viable solution, do you? .

  1. Reminds me of the Xanadu mall project in the Meadowlands, New Jersey, right down to the ridiculously optimistic visitor projections, cost overruns, horrific traffic and incompetent drivers. The only difference is Xanadu decided to waste their money on an indoor ski slope rather than a stupid roller-coaster.

  2. I was involved in the design of Xanadu and trust me there was plans in the works for a huge wheel ride similiar to the London Eye. I was doing the hvac for the "eye" cars and i believe it was supposed to be like 500-750' high

  3. But how did this problem seem to happen overnight and not when the local government was making the deal to create this? Then even after that weren't plans laid forth where the public/state could scrutinize how they were spending their money? I just seems this became an issue a year or two ago when prices started rising, the shady business deals were found and not before it was constructed. Shame for the local businesses.
