Possibly the coolest 911 video ever

Why? Well, beyond the obvious, you can see everything: the hands, the feet, the slip angle, the two wheels off pass on the E-Type Jag... and what it's like to take Eau Rouge without downforce and sticky tires. Amazing.

Historic Racing at SPA, Qualifying for the 2009 SPA Six Hours. You are riding with Roman Caserani in a 2.0 L 911 prepared by Holland's Duel Motorsport

But that's not all, after the jump lets see what can happen when you get Eau Rouge wrong, what it's like to drive this car on the Nürburgring GP track in the wet and more!

UPDATE: Some are wondering about all the sliding, it's not bad tires it's just the way cars had to be driven with tires from that era. remember THIS FERRARI GTO ONBOARD?

  2. Wow that 911 is lively! Around Spa no less with a lot of speed. Make sure to check out the uphill portion in car (video 1) and outside (video 2) to see how sideways that car is getting!

  3. If in doubt...flat out!

    Awesome!

  4. Skinny, probably bias-ply, tall sidewall tires...that's just the way your drive a vintage car on that kind of tire.

  5. That was a lot of fun to watch -- especially the second clip! That man has some brass ones!

  7. AC, great find!!! Definitively, exciting driving but not sure if that setup makes for the fastest way around...

  9. What a testament to the tried and true original stability control system: EHBF (Eyes, Hands, Butt, Feet).

  11. The intentional slide around traffic just before Blanchimont was the very impressive. Excellent.

  12. @CG - You might be surprised. On bias-ply tires, a lot of slip angle does tend to be fast. Go back and watch even F1 on bias-ply tires to see how much they moved around.

  13. I wonder if Porsche engineers are actually horrified watching this video :)

  14. Porsche engineers wake up sweating in the middle of the night after having a "nightmare" that looks exactly like this guy's in-car tape.

This guy is an Axis hero.

  15. Great footage! Just the way classic 911s should be used.
