Huayra Monkey

4 comments:

Be honest, would you rather spend $1.4 M on this rolling sculpture built in gorgeous factory in Emilia-Romagna or $1 M on a re-bodied Elise with a pushrod engine built in a shady Texas garage?

Surprised Harris can't think of another 730HP two wheel drive car though. Really? He could probably see one from where he filmed this clip!

You can follow Chris HArris on twitter @harrismonkey and read more about the Huayra at PistonHeads

Squeaky Huayra

There are two options here:

A. The $1.4 Million Pagani Huayra has the build quality of a 1986 Yugo

or

B. Evo, the first magazine to get their hands on Horacio's latest creation really did him a favor with this video...

Also, it it me or the car looks awful coming out of corners, like it really wants to tankslap?
Bad journalist driving?  Maybe but I get the feeling soon enough someone will make Jalopnik happy and crash one.
Check the video after the jump.

"It's inspired by a plane taking off..."

A perk of being the millionaire publisher of the best Car magazine on the planet is that you get invited to the Costa Smeralda to ride around in the new, amazing Huayra with Horacio Pagani himself. Takes considerable bravery to drive a 720 hp twin turbo that fast on tight and dusty sardinian roads!

Not much I can add to this great video clip by Harry Metcalfe other that perhaps, that the idea of a car inspired "by an airplane taking off" is not really what tracktards want to hear necessarily (like they are buying Paganis anyway...ha!).
But, damn the Huayra does sound and look like a fighter on afterburners.

Coming soon to an issue of EVO near you
