Seb whines, Gentleman Jenson bitchslaps him.

“It’s shit,”  said Vettel when asked in Sepang today.  “I think we have to [change it]. I was on the pit wall during the race. It’s better than in a bar! That’s my opinion. I think for the fans it’s not good. I think F1 has to be spectacular, and the sound is one of the most important things."

Later when speaking in German Vettel said that he would rather have a V12, and that batteries are for mobile phone, and not F1 cars.

Be that as it may,  we suspect if the Red Bull RB110 was at the pointy end of the field, Seb would not be throwing toys out of his Newey designed pram.    Of course it's no help the whole Red Bull team have been engaging in toy tossing for the past two weeks.

Enter "gentleman" Jenson who did not complain once last season when his Mclaren was,  well, shit:

"Go and race something else if you’re not happy,” said Jenson. “As drivers we don’t have an opinion where the cars are in terms of sound and feel. When you’ve crossed the finish line first and you’ve won a Grand Prix, you don’t care what it sounds or what it feels like. You’ve beaten the best in the world, and that’s what you care about.”

Ouch!

At least Alonso was clever and media savvy:

"If I say now that I think the show was bad (in Melbourne), then I will be accused of being frustrated because I didn't win".

  1. Dear god, your hate of anything Red Bull is as thick as wax. You'd do well working at fox news.

  2. C'mon Red Bull's been whining for weeks. And they'll keep whining until they get rules that favor them again. If this had been Alonso everyone would be jumping on him

  3. RBR has been doing everything within their powers to attract hate recently. Even Ric beaming smile can't save them right now. Same story as the Ferrari of mid 00's. If you can't see that you must have reached a whole new level of blindness..

  4. Deep down, when we all think like mature adults and we move past the political correctness and are all truly honest, we all know Seb is right. Just like Alonso knows Seb is right. We all agree with him. We can all see the sport suffering. This is the fundamental problem with liberal policies like taking a pro-environmental agenda in something like motorsport. Everything suffers...and it's completely unnecessary. Man made global warming is a hoax. Like the 2014 F1 season....it's a joke, it's a fraud. And the worst part is - people are stupid enough and timid enough to put up with it.

And in retaliation to Button's comment Seb won't have to bitchslap Button. From the looks of it, a twenty-one year old rookie named Kevin Magnussen is gonna do that for him. Truth be told, Button thinks the new formula is BS as well, but he's not gonna say anything. Why? Cause his ride is in serious jeopardy. Button is doing everything he can PR wise to save his own ass at McLaren. Think about it, if Lewis had stayed at McLaren there's a good chance Jenson wouldn't even be in F1. Right now he'd be wearing his little spandex tights riding his little bicycle around Hawaii heading home to scarf down a hefty plate of bangers and mash.

  5. "we ->suspect <- if the Red Bull RB110 was at the pointy end of the field, Seb would not be throwing toys out of his Newey designed pram." I'm talking about your slanted writing and speculation on anything to do with RB. I'm aware Vettel is whining but in that so has been the rest of twitter, facebook and a large chunk of the fan base. That was not in question. I like humor and witty writing as much as the next human however comments like the one above show a tainting of the quality articles I come to expect from AOO.

  6. I like how your hate for Red Bull is being talked about so far. A few years ago it was Hamilton followers complaining. Who is next AC?

  7. I disagree with the premise. Let's get real, f1's not going to come with pushrods can am engines and 4speed manuals. These cars will be pushing 800+hp when they'll be done with them. Who cares what they sound like as long as the racing is good

  8. Not bangers and mash. He'll finally get those soda cookies...

  9. ...and what are the fans gonna do when Seb still triumphs? Remember my friends...."even hell hath no fury like an Adrian Newey and Seb scorned!!!"

  10. I'm sorry, but the sound is a key part of the racing in F1. I don't want them to be as quiet as the LeMans Diesels, that would just be a tragedy, and it seems as if they are close to being that quiet...

  11. Get real guy. Last year, once the tires were brought back in line with RBR expectations, they stopped their bitching and complaining just as soon as they got back on the podium. And the year before that, and the year before that - go ahead and sit down and look back at the seasons as they progress. RBR has literally copied the Ferrari playbook page by page - pitch a fit as publicly as possible, sow the seeds of dissent among the various other teams and drivers, and ratchet up their whining on all fronts until the FIA and CW have had enough of the negative press to feel pressure from all of the delegates and various political movers in F1 to make changes - all just to save their own ass at the cost of the general reputation of the sport.

Throw in that little troll (BE) making his usual mystery statements to select members of the press, agitating the race promoters and team principles alike, and we're sitting in the same garbage barge as we were when Schumi and Ferrari were dominating the championship year after year. After Todt went on, Ferrari have changed their tactics a bit (at least, they aren't doing the public weeping-vagina show anymore) and frankly, Scuderia have gone up in my estimation as a team overall - last year they had some terrible races but they didn't take every opportunity to get in front of a camera and bitch about the NUMEROUS technical questions about RBR systems and their constant attack on the SAME TIRES EVERYBODY ELSE HAD TO USE.

So here we are, one year on, and once again RBR is CRYING LIKE A BUNCH OF LITTLE GIRLS WITH SKINNED KNEES BECAUSE THEY GOT CAUGHT CHANGING THE EXACT SAME EQUIPMENT EVERY OTHER TEAM USED WITHOUT MAKING THOSE CHANGES. And the other teams aren't interested in defending RBR b/c Newey and Horner BROKE THE FREAKING RULES.

This is a formula series. Parts and design MUST be standardized in certain areas, and if the teams don't like the regulations they can spend their hundreds of millions of dollars in NASCAR or over at Le Mans. Assuming, of course, they don;t mind the technical regulations in those series as well. Derp.

  12. I like how you took this and turned it into a political platform to rail against a verifiable chain of effects scientists around the world have agreed to (.02 percent of PUBLISHED scientists in the field and papers on this subject disagree with the overall conclusions that lead to the concept of 'global warming' so you can take your ideas on that topic elsewhere, maybe over to worldnet daily where that .02% agitate the ignorant).

Aside from that minor and utterly bullshit theory of yours if you think of Button that way it only underlines how far out in the weeds you really are. Button has proven himself time and again to be more than just a competent racer - he represents the team in a professional manner and has more experience behind the wheel of an F1 car than anyone else on the grid except maybe Massa who never did win that there title of CHAMPION... Button hasn't changed anything about how he approaches the media or drives the car, so your idea that he's somehow trying to save his ride by being a professional in the media and his personal life is utter tosh.

Just the idea that somehow his 'ride is in serious jeopardy' is a joke - after the 1st race of the new season with an entirely new formula there isn't a single driver in pit lane who is worried about their drive next year - nah, pretty sure they're focused on the next 8 months or so of racing, well maybe at least 4 months of racing, before they even begin to get to that point.

I have to wonder how long you've been watching F1, if you jump to these conclusions after one race.

  13. that's not quite right. Tires were exploding because teams were running them outside of Pirelli's recommendations and design parameters. Red Bull was among the teams who refused to follow Pirelli's directives. Then after the British GP debacle, they lobbied hard for "Safety" safety they ignored for performance earlier.

  14. and then people will complain the sound is "artificial"

  16. Yea that is a worry and in F1 artificial noise can't happen. I think this whole situation may get better if they can get reliability up to a level where they can use all the RPMs up to the 15k limit instead of shifting at 11k.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Nice of Jenson (the new #2) to ingratiate himself with the anti-Seb crowd, but the question is... how is it "whining" to answer honestly when asked about the noise? Obviously 12k turbo vs 18k-20k N/A V8/V10/V12 ***IS*** sh*t and if Vettel had said "it's awesome," he'd have been raked over the coals by the haters too. How about those who don't like the guy--no matter what he says or does--just be out with it and let's move on.

  18. Why so desperate Axis, I used to love visiting, but the F1 bitterness is hollow and too much.

  19. RB ignoring directives from the FIA you say???....

  20. The cars look and sound fine to me. Better yet they're wiggling around a bit and drivers are struggling with traction. Change is about adapting not whining about how it use to be.
