Fernando in La Ferrari at Fiorano

There are few guys in the world who could describe the La Ferrari as  good for a road car.    Fernando would be one.

Here he is  giving it a go at Fiorano in his shorts,  all you "I drive flat out" types who show up at track days with a full fire suits, take note....

What I don't understand is how, at a company that can produce such a technological marvel, there is not one person who can operate a GoPro properly!  Helloooo....  spot meter setting,  sheesh.

It's still not clear why the car is still running in camouflage but notice the large rear spoiler, not seen before in pictures.  Perhaps La Ferrari needed a bit more downforce like the F138?

  1. Not a bad idea to wear a fire suit at a track day because not only are YOU not Fernando, but neither are the other people around you!

  2. Nando's wheel inputs are always so quick.

  3. You can imagine the conversation, "mamma mia that P1 is going to eat us alive! Quick put a wing on it and get Nando to tell us how to make it faster".

  4. What a legacy he is building at Ferrari. Despite that the F1 cars of the past few seasons are not up to the challenge of the Red Bulls, Fernando has put his stamp on quite a few of Ferrari's "passenger car" offerings. Most notable being the 456 and now the La Ferrari. This is what will separate him from the likes of Seb, etc. Don't see any Red Bull road cars for sale in the near future...

  5. by that logic then one should wear a firesuit every day!

  6. You are the kind of people who test press cars with a helmet on?

  7. +1. If you have one you should feel free to wear it without worrying about what other people think. I bought mine for actual racing but since I dont do that any more I use it at track days instead.

And to respond to ACs comment about wearing one everyday I feel that the fire risk in a fiberglass car on track is high enough for me to wear the suit - that level of acceptable risk is different for everyone. I do wear a helmet at all times when I drive my Seven on street or track. I used to wear my HANS on the street as well but it got cumbersome enough overtime that I now only use it on track.

  8. When looking at this YouTube vid of an LaFerrari proto, you'll see the large rear spoiler emerge as an air brake. It doesn't pop up like with an SLR or Veyron, but appears to "slide out" or something.

  10. The car sounds fantastic. Liking the F1 style shift lights on the steering wheel as well. I can't get over the name of the car though, ugh, terrible!
