Why is Fast and Furious 6 using a really lame, fake FXX?

call from the Maranello legal department in 5, 4, 3.....

UPDATE: I love our readers: turns out that's a BMW v8 powered tube framed kit car thing. Luca's looking for you! http://www.racecarsdirect.com/listing/45159/morisco_idr_m_car.html

Please tell me that does not say "Ferrari" on the air box...

  1. Meh, half of the cars in the last two movies were CGI so what's another fake car to the cast? The better questions are: Why is there a F&F6? And, why is there a girl with no ass in a bikini prominently featured in this still shot?

  2. Simply beacuse Ferrari didn't granted the permission to use one of their car in the movie. The same decisione would be taken by all other supercar manufactures.

However, I don't know if fast and furious can use a copy of the car

  5. Byron: this ridiculously successful movie series will go away when people stop watching it, and be honest, you've seen all five so far...

    1. I confess, I lovei movies that are so bad they're good. FF series is most definitively in that group. I won't cop to it but I will watch it. :)

    2. I'd like to add that if that girl has "no ass" then I love girls without asses.

  6. I said it elsewhere but the Fast and Furious movies go down so much better once you realise that they're actually live action cartoons instead of real movies.

As for the Fauxrrari, well i guess it's better to use and maybe crash a fake Enzo that a real one! I'm looking at you Redline!! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCbZYs1POaM at around 07:55 to see a REAL Carrera GT being sacrificed... plus an Enzo was written off in a crash during a promotional event for the film...)

  7. I'm not 100% sure (but it's ringing some solid bells) but didn't Miami Vice (series not film) producers get sued by Maranello for referring to the car in the series as a Ferrari Daytona when it was a kit car replica? The issue wasn't that they were using a replica, but that they were referring to it as if it were the real thing.
