Supercars in Hell...

...the green hell that is.

Pardon the pun but this test runs rings around all others we have seen. This is how tests should be done: same time, same place, same driver, same amount of fuel and cars to factory spec. This is an Axis approved test.

Enzo Ferrari, Maserati MC12, Pagani Zonda R, Porsche Carrera GT and a Koeniggseg CCX, Supercar Movies and Black Falcon Performance really hit one out of the park.

The only improvement would be to have all the telemetry data available, perhaps in later episodes we will get that too. Below is the introduction and, after the jump, let's find out how the Enzo did on a timed lap around the Nürburgring.
(thank you Jay for the tip!)

Sorry but Supercarmovies.com objected to our direct use.... go see them on supercarmovies.com
Interesting about the shocks, whe we were at the Nürburgring, Dale Lomas told us the new M3 had similar issues, where dampners would overheat during the lap...

Can't wait for the next four episodes!

  5. Of course, with Goodyear Eagle F1 Fioranos, super flappy paddles, a full vacuum tray, and mid-engine V12 power, the Enzo only went 1 second faster than the ZR1's official time and 3 seconds slower than its new unofficial time (if today's reports are real). But what a sound!

  6. How do you know what tires the ZR1 was wearing today? how do we know how the temperature and the track conditions compare? we don't and that's why these manufacturer tests are largely meaningless. There is no "official" timing and control.

BTW, the Enzo's shocks failed half way through...that was lame

  7. yo Fearless, i though Enzos came with Bridgestone Scuderia's didn't they? that looks like a typical Bridgestone tire to me ... + enzo was built in 03 as the top Fcar, the amazing ZR1 (believe me i love that car) it's barely coming in (5 years later) with one only sole purpose, to break all records .. seriously, comments like " ...the Enzo only went 1 second faster than the ZR1's official time..." ... they remind me kids car forums were the typical comment is "i'd slap a turbo on a civic and e faster than a Enzo any day" blah blah blah ..

  9. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the test. Especially the Carrera GT.

If a GTR or ZR1 can truly get anywhere near that Enzo (in stock trim) I'll eat my cat.

  10. I read about this in EVO magazine, you can't argue with the amount of trust that goes into letting someone else use your cars for what they were designed for. Shame what happened to the CCX though. Wouldn't want to see that bill in the morning!
