With February, at least in the part of the world we live in, comes the recognition that track season is just a few weeks away. Time to make sure your car will at least pass tech, that you have brake pads and tires, maybe time to wash your sweaty helmet and to study videos of the tracks you plan to visit. It may very well be that this is the year you finally run out of excuses and go to the track. Once there you might find yourself asking why it is your GT3 got passed by that dude in the dodgy looking Honda Civic? Well, chances are that you probably just suck but that would be a natural thing, nothing to be ashamed about.
You can suck less the first time if you are prepared and do your homework. Axis recommends you read Jeff Gabel's Rookie Chronicles. Jeff did a great job summarizing the track day/driving school experience.

It's not really the kind of "development" anyone expected from winter testing. In Spain, a country which only cared about 125cc motorcycle racing up until a few years ago, Alonso fans are risking big with their football style antics in the stands.
In the video below I hear none of the more heavy handed stuff this Autosport article mentions, however there is no doubt that they were not exactly cheering Mclaren and a quick glance at some of the images on this Hamilton hater web site will not renew your faith in human nature.
Without a doubt the UK press will certainly jump right into this one and already there are some rumblings from the FIA. Hysteria sold a lot of newspapers last season and reading some of the diametrically opposed accounts of events in Spanish and British press was certainly entertaining but I hope this is put quietly aside and dealt with on an individual basis.
The Alonso "ultras" have stepped over the line, Lewis Hamilton most certainly does NOT deserve that, nobody does. I'm sure the vast majority of Spanish F1 fans agree.
Oh great, now we have F1 Hooligans from AxisOfOversteer.com on Vimeo.

Ferrari wasn't there, Hamilton was quick, Alonso not quite as much.Gary Paffet annoyed everyone by going off the road every two minutes, Honda broke down and Williams lost a wing sending Nakajima hard into the wall.
Finally, after the horny BMW, it's Red Bull's turn to draw inspiration from classic 1960's aerodynamic pioneers.
