And if you thought Kovalainnen's crash was scary...

This is Stephane Ortelli in a Courage-Oreca LC70-Judd at the LMS 1000 km of Monza.
Stee thinks this one is not as bad because it's a series of cartwheels rather than a single, brutal deceleration.   He may be right but I'm guessing the speed was higher when the car snaps away under braking and, I figure, Ortelli was lucky to come out of it with just a broken ankle.

Here are some highlights from the race

Insanely great racing

...when you really stop to think about it just about every form of racing pales compared to MotoGP and when you have a damp/wet race like this past week end in France, well it's just fantastic to see. I mean, a 220hp+ bike on slicks in the wet...try to pictures it. It's just nuts.

Rules allow riders to come in and swap bikes for one with full wet tires and in this race it was all a game of chicken to see how could stay out longer on slicks and not crash. Incredible stuff.
The clips below are the Italian Rete1 broadcast and I'm sure you'll get the sense of what's happening even if your italian is a bit rusty especially when Valentino Rossi is doing some numbers!
