Ouch... But nobody was seriously hurt!

  1. Wow, why didn't that white 430 slow down more before reaching the oil? The flags had been out long enough.

  2. Looks like they take lessons from the nurburgring operators.

  3. The guy in the white F430, white GT3 and whoever caused the contact between the 2 Gallardos should all be banned for a year.

Double waved yellows and they still got tearing into a corner! This IS Macau if there's doubles thrown probably a fairly major incident around the corner! Potentially Marshalls on track!

  4. I defiantly see the white 430 at fault in this he flew in there just plain ignoring the double yellows. It's hard to say what happened with the white GT3 because he came into the corner with the bonnet already covering his windshield. If I was the FIA I wouldn't be too happy with a car driving around virtually blind. Probably deserves a penalty for that. I'll reserve judgement on the Gallardos.

Hind sight is always 20/20 and it's easy to play armchair race director but with a car disabled, broadside on the racing line around a blind corner. I would have red flagged the race. After all, yellow flag means go just slow enough not to get a trip to the stewards.

  5. If the flags visible outside the turn are the only flags then they are useless. Four of the cars started crashing before they reached the flags. Far too many people have been hurt or killed because of terrible marshaling.

  6. The oil line came off of the Audi R8 that was in front of the Ford. A trail of engine oil at the entry of this Mandarin corner was the cause of all these cars going off. All the drivers are okay. One of the drivers is still in the hospital under observation. Michael

  7. The GT3 had the front right corner knocked off (in addition to the bonnet being up). He had started crashing off screen. Same with the Gallardo at the end. He was already in the fence prior to coming into view.

Guess the real question is "Did they ignore an up track waving yellow?"

  8. No way of knowing from this video as you can't see what's immediately before this corner

  10. Well, the onboard changes everything IMHO.

There is just one "slippery track" flag on the right on the straight before Mandarin, and when you can see the yellow flags it's already too late. Others managed to stop in time, but it seems just luck.
