Top gear: 2011 Italian GP Qualifying

They say Red Bull may have chosen the wrong gear ratios for the race but check out this little number by Sebastian Vettel at Ascari.
Any doubts as to how perfectly set up to Seb's style and how balanced the RB7 is, should be put to rest by the seeming effortless way Vettel pulls this off.

Stunning.

  1. Stunning indeed. The way the correction input virtually becomes the steering input for the final left is just beautiful.

And with luck his low top speed will make for a classic race.

  2. HOnestly, I know he is a great driver. Theres no doubt about that. This was a beautiful maneuver.
I am just getting tired of Vettel winning so much. especially right from the fromt.
To me; If he was winning from behind every once in a while it would demonstrate that he is a real racer.

    agree? or disagree?

  3. @David, yes and no, yes I would like to see him fight from the back but no, you can't blame him for everyone else being slow...

  4. I only noticed that was a slide after they showed the outside camera shot. That was the first time I was truly impressed by Vettel, no bullshit. And that car is incredible...

  5. That was seriously impressive.
Compare it to Senna's slide in practice, the RB is so much more balanced.
Speaking of Senna, did Lewis have the word Senna on his race suit?

Anyway that's a set of soft rears gone for Vettel, those were some nice black lines.

  6. reply @AC, Agree and I would rather put it this way - He has the fastest car of them all.

Go Senna Go!!! (Its good to say that, and I hope we can all say that for a long time!)
