Mclaren MP4-12C

You'll read a lot about the 12C as the embargo on recent press drives was lifted today. I like this Mclaren video giving a peak at how these events go down, the best part is certainly watching journalists faces as they get a ride along with Jenson Button!.

We got to poke around the 12c a while back though only in static form, have a look HERE. Hopefully we will get to drive it in the future, perhaps put it through a proper test like with the GT2 and the Scuderia!

  1. I'm glad McLaren went with a bespoke engine instead of sourcing it like Lotus did for the Evora. What a gorgeous car.

  2. I still think it's too wide relative to the front from the side intakes back. But still, I'm sure it'll be way more sorted than the 458 overall.

  3. What I'm interested in is how they managed a car like that with an open diff.
I understand they use brake steer to get the car to the apex, but using brakes to get the car out can only slow it down.... I guess they must feel their car has such perfect traction that it does not need an LSD ? That's quite a chunk of change to pay for a 1 wd car if they are wrong,

  5. I love how cars get declared "faster than..." without a side by side .

@sorrento, that confirms what I thought, there is absolutely no way brakes can make you faster under acceleration
