The average age on the Formula 1 grid will increase dramatically in 2010: after the return of 41 year old Michael Schumacher, Sauber has chosen 37 year old Pedro De La Rosa to partner Kamui Kobayashi. De La Rosa's debut came in 1999 with Arrows followed by two seasons at Jaguar. He then became Mclaren's test driver, occasionally filling in for Juan Pablo Montoya. His best result was a second place in Hungary in 2006.
De La Rosa's engagement leaves four free seats available, most notably the one at Renault alongside Robert Kubica. Campos need one driver and USF1 needs to fill both seats.
