I don't know if you've ever seen it but Nark Neale 2003's Faster was the best racing documentary ever made about MotoGP and one of the best ever made about racing. It's one of those films that makes the hair at the back of your neck stand up and starts with one of the best quotes ever, from Valentino Rossi: "At the beginning when you first try the 500 its ...aaah F^@K".
I admit, I have conflicting feelings about the electric bikes in Neale's new documentary, Charge, but watching Faster again...I think there's a chance these guys will not care how the bike goes, just that it goes, fast. Yes, they sound like a vacuum cleaners but if anyone could find a way to make eco racy and sexy, these guys are the ones to do it.
Still, I think they might need to put more than one gear to make Valentino happy!
Food for debate anyway. You should really buy a copy of Faster but if you must, take a look at some of it after the jump.

I'm not a bike guy but those trailers do make me want to start watching Moto GP. Did Ewin McGregor narrate one of the movies? I know he's a big bike fan
ReplyDeleteMcGregor narrated both motoGP movies (Faster and The Doctor, The Tornado and The Kentucky Kid), and I think this one too.
