FIA flinches: no new Formula 1 scoring system

The Formula One Constructors Association simply pointed out the FIA's own regulations prohibit rule changes so close to the start of the season unless there is unanimous consent from all parties.

The FIA had no choice but retreat to literally "fight another day" and communicated the unpopular rule would be implemented starting with the 2010 season.

Score one for FOTA, but the scoring system still needs a well thought out overhaul.
