  6. Hamilton to win championship with less wins than Massa.....booo hiss

  7. Psssshhhhh whatever! If it was the other way around you'd probably say "Look, Massa doesn't even need to come in first to win, he's more consistant!"

I just DESPISE Ferrari as a Team, I liked Raikkonen until he went red, ugh.

  14. Hamilton did NOT deserve that.... he got his ass handed to him in the wet and won by default

  15. Lewis Hamilton has the best car, Vettel is the BEST DRIVER of both, Massa was the biggest/better driver of all year, the most improved and the most Passionate, Massa you win in our hearts ...

  17. Wonder how much McLaren is paying Glock for his "slow lap"

Hamilton shouldnt have won it. Kubica jumped in with Vettel and embarrassed him.

Should have been Massa's championship, the result was COMPLETE BS.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Glock did the same lap time as Trulli who was also on slicks.... So no glock did not influence the results

    jajajaja

Did you see the last lap times.... ? How do you conclude LH did not do well in the wet? Not to mention Masa is the worst driver in the wet...

    ReplyDelete
  20. But didn't Kubica (on dries) pass both Vettel an Hamilton like they were standing still? You can't blame Glock's slow lap on tires.

I don't think Glock would just hand Hamilton the title though.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Andres Escobar ". So no glock did not influence the results"

Did not?? I though Glock @ the last curve of the last lap ... he got passed handling the tittle to Ham didn't he?

  22. Im as anti-Lewis as possible, but Glock didnt throw the race for them. Both Glock and Truli ran low 1:44's on the last lap, it just came down to what lap the rain fell and how much. Its just luck.

Although I will say the LH didnt deserve the championship this year. He was out classed by Massa most of the year and especially today, not to mention our drove by Vettle!

    ReplyDelete
  23. He did not artificially influence a 'la Ferrari

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hmm, after watching the replay you could make the case that Glock might have moved out of the way. Will have to wait to see a better angle of it or an on board to see for sure.

  28. LOL I wouldn't exactly call LH's season a success. Montreal or Bahrain anyone? LOLZ

  29. Masa had a great season, 3 retirements, two 13ths... and the help of the MAFIA

  30. He did set a record... 6 spins in one race...

    ReplyDelete
  31. JP ... not a success? He is CHAMPION. And the youngest one ever!

    ReplyDelete
  32. He's also a douche. And it sure seemed to me like he was trying to be a douche... so he succeeded at that.

  33. Oh man, what a great race, what a heart breaking result.

    Alonso 09. Believe it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. @ least i know that the order of REAL TALENT goes as this:

    1) Alonso
    2) Vettel
    3) Massa
    4) Kimmi
    5) Kubica
    5) Lewis Hamilton

That for me is what matters the most ,,,,

  35. If I was di Montezemolo, I'd be burning up the phone lines to Vettel.

Class of the field, and quite possibly the best driver out there.

What would he have done if he was in a Ferrari or McLaren this year?

What would Hamilton or Massa or Raikonen done in a Toro Rosso?

    A frickin' Toro Rosso!

    ReplyDelete
  36. adrian newey chassis and ferrari engine, arguably he's got one of the hottest packages in the field so its no suprise the car is where it is.

IMO the right man won the race and the right man won the championship. Theres no denying Ferrari had the superiour car and massa showed again he can do a better job than Kimi. But over the course of the season i think Lewis showed again he is a world class driver. If it wasnt for some of those dubious FIA handouts it would have been in the bag before Brazil. Still, a fascinating end to a second season in a row. Who still says F1 is boring?

Absolutely cannot wait for 2009. I have an incline the new reg's will shake up the whole field which should make it even more intresting.

    Keep the faith!

  39. Lewis is one of the top drivers (maybe 5 - 6 are someone suggested above) but clearly in most of planet earth's F1 fan books, the most undeserving champion in the last 3 decades I watched F1.

What a douchebag "I'm God" (even today he failed to admit Vettel was faster!) personality that ended with a circumstantial 1 point lead over a driver that won more races and delivered at the end what he had to!!

Also, if he really believe is that good why didn't he control his own destiny by going for a "safe" 3rd? Running 5-6 through the race is just as stupid as going for P1 in the first corner! He just can't do it!

The Ham is just one more of plenty good drivers that happened to be in the right car for the last 2 seasons and the media bred him into the Messiah of British Motorsports. I love you Brits, always had, (I still keep my Lotus despite breaking 30X more than my Porker!), and I feel sorry that a guy like LH represents you all in front of the world at the same (or above?) levels to truly world-class past heroes and real gentleman like Mansell, Hill, Hunt, Stewart et al...

Sad day... , but at least the Championship ended up with a thriller and the biggest question mark on the points leader (Not a Champ in my Stats)

    ReplyDelete
  40. To CG from a Brit....

Can we have that in English please? Most of your points make no sense.

LH represents us all? Thanks for that Scott Speed chap he was an excellent advert for the US of A and driving... I feel sorry for your lot having him as an ambassador to F1.

And furthur more I think unless Chevy want to build an F1 engine all Americans, should by law, be barred from the sport.

LH has scored more points than anyone over the last two seasons (after getting similarly raped for points last year and this). So quit it with the Massa won more races crap, and send more cash the FerrariInternationalAssistance.

    KTHXBYE

    ReplyDelete
  41. Anonymous, Kimi scored 6 wins vs. LH 4 last year...

I don't take anything you said personally as I'm not (US)American either, and I do believe with all my heart Chevys should be all dead by now (and left their own little chapter in history as to "how not to compete in a global industry"). Also, I guarantee you 99.99% of the American population has never heard of Scott Speed.

My point is that the british race press and fan base used to be very critical and sarcastic (in a good way) of everyone, even their own breed, but with LH objectivity has been completely lost. It was so sad to hear Peter Windsor's conspiracy theories through the course of the race today on Speed

    ReplyDelete
  42. As a reply to "CG from Brit"
Americans should be barred because they don't have an engine in F1? Hey dumbass what about Brazil? Don't forget under that logic you should be banned to, because most of the F1 engines come from other countries anyway (See McLaren). Just to clarify, people like YOU should be banned from the sport.

As a side note CG has the point with how the British press went downhill. ITV used to be watchable before Hamilton came in.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Don't understand why so many people are jealous of Hamilton. He is a great driver. I like Massa also. I can't understand why everybody feel that Hamilton does not deserve the champion because he didn't win today or was passed by some other drivers. He did exactly what he needed to do.

    ReplyDelete
  44. CG

Ahhhh but my point was over the 2 seasons LH scored more than anyone. Championships are won on points, not wins. Your problem is you get 8 for 2nd, not with LH.

I'll give you the British press nonsense but you can't tar everyone with the same brush because some dumbass journalist said something stupid. Lots of people dont like LH, I love him.

Objectivity was lost in F1 long ago, after all the Schumacher BS. People are just pissed that LH doesn't drive for Ferrari.

As for the Real Talent list, I'd think something more like this:

    1) Hamilton/Kimi
    2) Kimi/Hamilton
    3) Alonso
    4) Kubica
    5) Massa/Vettel(With a good car)
    6) Vettel/Massa(Without a Ferrari)

Kimi has lost interest after winning the WDC and working with Ferrari. He'll be off to rallying, and beer ;)

    ReplyDelete
  45. LH is a good driver not a Great one, but he is one of the worst sport-persons I've ever seen and just a plain bad soul. His reluctance to admit mistakes or that he has been beaten by others is just one of many dark sides. I don't blame him, maybe is just the outcome of having been bred in a test tube in Woking and growing up with Ron Dennis for playdates.

... and please don't confuse character (like Senna's or Montoya's) with just being a plain bad person.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I just hate to see the guy with less wins end up driver champion, But Ferrari is World Champion anyway.

BTW Anonymous... Axis is quite international, making "American" jokes does not work very well, just for future reference

  47. But overall it was a very exciting race today. Such an emotional roller coaster to go from the rained start were anything can happen, to the "Lewis has it locked up" 45 laps of the middle of the race, to the "omg rain in the last 10 laps, maybe Lewis will fail", to then "omg Massa has the championship!" to only then having Massa win the race and Lewis getting that one point he needed with two corners left on the track. Unbelievable to say the least.

But...2009 will be great that's for sure. Who knows what teams will adapt well to the 2009 aero and tire rules and specs, but we do know that Alonso, Massa, Lewis, Kimi and possibly Kubica will be fighting for the championship last year. The only down side to 2009 will be the lack of Montreal, French GP and ending the race in a sand pit were as today's emotion by the Brazilians displayed the true passion of F1.

Just imagine next years champion being crowned in Abu-Dhabi spraying carbonated grape soda instead of champagne to the delight of hundreds of oil rich millionaires and their buddies!

    ReplyDelete
  48. ...and don't forget, JP, those oil-rich bazillionaires get to watch an F1 field filled with hybrids running part-eco-fuel.

As for the "he didn't earn it" stuff... while I am not a Hamilton fan by any means, he did what it took to win the championship. By no other measure than points alone, he earned it. Period. Am I let down that a self-important egotist like Hamilton won the championship of the pinnacle of motorsports? Yes. Am I disappointed that his hubris was rewarded in the form of a record for the youngest ever world champion? Yes. Do I feel that many other drivers could have accomplished the same feat given the car and team he was handed? Yes.

Disappointed as I may be I won't say that he didn't deserve it. Hamilton is a good driver, possibly a great driver and like him or not, he and his team scored more points this year than anyone else. He is the champion, at least until next year.

  49. Hey DENIED .. Agree about HAM but i might say that there's rich gazzilionaires everywhere ... the difference is that out of the 100K people in Interlagos maybe 3% are superrich ... the rest are enthusiasts like you and me .. now i personally have a friend designer in BAHRAIN .. she is a good person and LOVES CARS etc etc .. yet, she can't go see the race @ her island b/c is a GUY thing ... see the difference?

  50. The funny thing is that i was NEVER fan of Ferrari, I was always fan of the driver, only ONE year i was on Ferrari due Mansell, most f my life i was a McLaren/Williams hardcore also a HONDA fanatic (I love my S2k/NSX/shawd RL) Thanks to Senna, Mansell, Piquet, Prost etc ... i disliked Ferrari b/c of Schumacher and i didn't watch @ ALL F1 from 99 to 05 .. even though i had posters and magazines and videos of my heroes Mansell and Piquet (from my childhood) .. now, last year i was cheering for McLaren as I always did in the past (Mika i loved him) so for me was all about Hamilton and his young fierce great "ESCUREDO" Lewis Hamilton -the next great champion, as i thought- .. but it took me 6 months to realize that Hamilton was a prick and total different person, yes i will confess i was excited b/c he was black and i was happy b/c is good for the sport -dominated by europeans and latin americans-) ... but then i never thought that Schumacher been an as**ole was going to be supposed by a 23 Y.O. prick ... anyways .. more years are coming, and Hamilton better wins all b/c after McLaren he will be in the back of the pack getting lapped by Vettel and other hard-worker drivers ,,
    See you next year!
