Flat Spot

I could not help but notice that tire just outside the Mclaren garage... The tendency of Hamilton to lock up the inside front of his McLaren has been almost a regular feature this season. Perhaps the silver cars are be setup with a very stiff front end but Interlagos is especially bumpy and has fallaway corners... it may come into play this week end.

  1. yep, it's a feature of the mclaren chassis. i believe peter windsor of speedtv talked it over with the speedtv commentators during the china gp as david hobbs noticed lewis' rear brake rotors were still glowing a fair ways after an apex. mclaren has apparently been trying to dial out the inside front locking up with rearward brake bias, but with mixed success obviously... lewis brakes super late which just exacerbates the problem.

  2. I think that's the first time I've seen duct tape on any part of an F1 car.

  3. I'm not sure that's a Bridgestone approved patch!
