The end of a great career

We love photography here at Axis and some of the very best motorsport and specifically, Formula 1 photography since the 1950's has been produced by Bernard Cahier and his photo agency ...

Bernard Cahier passed away at age eighty one. Just this past week end his son, Paul-Henry, was involved in that odd incident with Kimi Raikkonen.

Please do check out this fine obit by GrandPrix.com and make sure you go to the Cahier Archives web site and see, the history of the sport we love.

  1. How many crashes have we seen this year that would have killed any driver in a car from before the mid 80's? I cant understand how many, many more of these old time F1 guys didn't get killed in races, quali, testing and other series . Did they just drive well within the limit, with the fastest guy being the man most willing to die for a win?
