Latest Nissan GT-R Nürburgring lap video, 7:29!

The Nissan GT-R continues to blur the lines between reality and Playstation. Here is a fresh video of a 7:29 second lap of the Nürburgring.

"..the car just lets Toshio get away with murder. The stupidly tight lines into Wehrseifen and Adenauer Forst are a real eye-opener: this car obviously grips and grips. The computers are keeping the tail in check and the ABS doesn't care what you throw at it."

I did just notice they start the timer at the green fence after T13 and stop it at the first pylon but then again, I guess 7:29 markets better than 7:31...

  1. Was it just me or did he put up the emergency brake when he came in? I was also taught to never set the emergency brake when coming off the track.

  2. Why would you NOT use the hand brake? Because the brakes were hot at the back and it could either a) sieze or b) contract and let your car roll away.

Anyway. I don't think he used the brakes much...

  3. I can't figure it out, that car is so humongous in person that I cannot fathom how it could be so quick.

  4. From his steering input, it looks like he is trying to make the car drift. A very sharp stab of the wheel. But then all the little electrons prevent that from happening. The gear ratios sound really far apart after 3 and he chugs it in a lot of the final turns before the mini-carousel. I guess the driving wasn't terribly thrilling and the fact that the time was so low just proves to me it's a playstation with an engine.

  5. Is it just me or has the media portrayed this vehicle as "virtually uncrashable" ?

  6. I'm sure that will be proven wrong once the idiot parade marches to the dealers and brings them back smacked up with 200 miles on them.

  8. I pressed the pause button but I crashed anyway, is that covered by the warranty?

  9. Oh yeah.... I can just imagine a few of those stomping over 3-5 cars on grid at Pocono East. The new EVO, but now of the supercar world..
