Speedcar

I'm trying to figure out if this is some kind of old formula 1 driver's purgatory or just an amusing sideshow. Jean Alesi, Johnny Herbert, a number of DTM drivers slug it out on NASCAR like machines, take a look.

  1. Was at the Indonesia race...very strange to see stock cars in Jakarta. 620-hp spec V-8s built in carolina (they tested at VIR last year) tagging along with GP2 in sprint races around Asia. Looks like FIA trying to grab a piece of the Asia market before NASCAR does...except they forgot the moonshine.

Any footage available from the Indonesia races?

  2. that was the most eloquent stock car interview I've ever heard.

If you've ever read Steve Matchett's book, "the mechanic's tale" Steve belives that Johny herbert belongs in purgatory, maybe not the F1 either.

  5. I don't know about you guys, but I think that any series that has similarly matched cars, low tech (meaning no driver aids) and a nice track, can be fun to watch. If they only steer left is another thing, but, I'd say that in as indy/cart races: ovals mostly dull, tracks surely fun!

p.s. I'll probably watch grassmower races...
