Alfa Romeo 8c...bellissima!

photo Alfa Romeo
BadBadM and I will argue, but I think this is one of the most exciting looking cars designed in the last 20 years.

Here is a beautiful promo from Alfa Romeo:

In the promo you see the inspiration and spiritual ancestors of the new 8c, the original 8c (with accelerator pedal in the middle between brake and clutch!) and a 33 Stradale, one of the most beautiful cars of the 1960s.

A little trivia: the "EE" plate you see in the 33 stradale is a 1960's Italian plate for "Escursionisti Esteri", foreign excursionist, non residents who would buy a car for export. Similar to the old German "Z" plates

  1. Oh, look! A front-engine, rear-mounted transaxle, just like a Corvette!!

  2. Here we go....:)

Alfa Romeo was using transaxle layout in their family sedans in the 70's

Also, like GM, they liked their antiquated suspensions, what with their love of De Dion's up until the SZ (which steady state gripped at 1.2g on street tires almost 20 years ago)
