2011 Monza Rally Show

4 comments:

Every year the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza gets turned into a labyrinth of chicanes and slaloms, a Ken Block Gymkana minus the special effects and editing! The really cool parts is that rally cars get to run on the old banked track...at night!

Above is Danni Sordo in a Mini WRC, Below Dindo Capello, out of his usual environment driving a Citroen DS3 WRC And Valentino Rossi tearing it up in the Monster Energy Ford Focus WRC

More after the jump.

Bank Job: 2010 Monza Rally Show

Lotus Exige Cup 260 Rally
(Lotus Exige Cup 260 Rally by Lord Markus)

Since 1978, when the weather in MIlano turns cold, foggy and preferably wet, the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza gets transformend into a self contained rally track.

Cars participating in the Monza Rally Show run the track forwards and backwards and sideways, they run on the banking, they run at night. They do special side by side super specials and they do what looks like free for alls. Kind of like a Ken Block video minus the editing and special effects.

Cars run the gamut from full blown WRC cars to Corvettes and Ferraris usually a few celebrities. Brilliant idea for rally fans.
Lots more videos after the jump.

The Freep is missing...Updated!

No comments:
... presumably he is still alive but perhaps still nursing his massive, Axis Brilliant Plan B induced hangover. We tried to catch a glimpse of him in superhero pajamas in the following video but no luck.... Have you seen the Freep? if so please return him in reasonable condition

UPDATE:

clues to the Freep's whereabouts appeared in the form of these two photos taken from a crossbow arrow pierced diary found, next to a broken banjo, inside an abandoned canoe floating on the Cahulawassee River. Some say the Freep will never be the same again...
