Yes, Daniel Ricciardo beat Hamilton's Top Gear time but...

...did you notice his mirrors changed position from corner to corner during the record lap?

Bacharach

OK,  for sure an obsessed F1 driver on a quest for the fastest time would ask to fold those big elephant ear mirrors and,  if you believe Top Gear when they said Daniel did three identical  laps,  it matters little that they composited the lap.

That leaves only one, incapable,  shocking  conclusion:
Aerodynamics have no effect whatsoever on a Suzuki Liana!

Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton Fan clubs around the world have already started #Mirrorgate.

  1. Is really anyone surprised about the fact that Top Gear is edited beyond belief? I get it, it's a TV show and Ricciardos lap video is an edit with the most spectacular parts of all the runs he did.

But the number in the board is actually the time of a single lap (the best one I presume) and not an "ultimate lap time" with the best time for different sections of the circuit in a variety of laps.

Even when so much editing steals a bit from the credibility of the show, I still believe that lap times are honest.

  3. They track reportedly has gotten some work since the other top drivers participated. Who cars though, it's fun to watch the flat brimmers squirm.

  4. Is mediocre tv show and nothing that is said on it should be take it seriously.

  5. Totally agree. Top gear and other car shows fake things all day long! They reckon a Bentley Continental can stop from 60 mph in 75 feet in episode 2... That is hilariously faked or just wildly incorrect.

  6. That LOO into the second last was perfection. He's such a likeable kid and bloody quick. Would he beat Alonso or Hamilton in the same car? I think it would be very close.

  7. Wow. I'll take a Top Gear Track P1 over a F1GP win!! Go Ricciardo!

  8. Breaking 70 to 0 in 156 feet. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2014-bentley-continental-gt-v8-s-test-review
I don't think Hamilton would be interested in having Ricciardo as a teammate. I wonder how much better the young Russian will fare compared to the German?

  9. Well TG has kind of given up on "real" reviews long ago, but then again there is so much bullshit in so called "real" reviews that in the end, would you not rather watch the funny one?

  11. Is it just me, or does it look like Ricky is wearing a hairpiece? Anyone? Anyone? On Ricky's website he does have several links to Burt Reynolds fan sites.

  12. Compare ? I don't need to compare a TV show to know when is mediocre.

  14. I love Top Gear, even when it's bad. BBC loves it too given it's has an audience of 350 million worldwide. It probably pays for half their budget! :)

  15. That is fine. About the BBC loves Top gear for sure due the amount of money it generates now I don't know about the budget... Dr Who, Sherlock :D

Again this is subjective and my opinion of a TV show

  16. Hi Byron, I think most of the early letters you received were probably penned by Ingrid Pussich, Ubaldo's right hand man (or woman in this case). She was one of the few employees at the time who spoke a language other than Italian. Ingrid is still in Sant'Agata and doing fine. You have a great story and you have my thanks for sharing. 18. hi Jack: I believe you and I had met in the early 80's during one of the LCA events... yes, I am aware that Ingrid did all the typing / translation for Ubaldo per the "US/ip" notations on my correspondence from Ubaldo... trying to get in touch with Ingrid appropriately, at the moment...

  19. It's almost sad how obsessed you are with hating on Lewis Hamilton for any reason you can possibly think up.
