This is the best F1 picture in years.

Why?  because it shows todays Formula 1 drivers celebrating life.   It's a rare, unguarded, real moment in this age of strict image control, shared by Jean-Eric Vergne on Instagram.

Naturally, the web has lashed back because the web thinks every racer and race fan should spend every moment thinking about Jules Bianchi.   The web thinks the FIA and Charlie Whiting is to blame for Bianchi's accident,  The web thinks you cannot talk about the possibility Bianchi made an error.

The web also thinks racing is boring and "all this safety has ruined the show".

So screw the web, well done boys (and would be boys)  Celebrate life!

Cheers.

  5. I don't know if anyone is still managing this blog, but just in case: any tips on best ways to throttle an old 911 (85 stock) so it's ready to pick up speed coming out of turns at oak tree especially (but also out of 5 heading into the snake)? so far my only success has been to downshift to second which compromises other things.

  6. Agreed, uptight commentators need to drink more Chivas and Heineken.

  7. "Uh, hi Pastor... You're what? Oh, uhm, you're looking at Instagram? Oh, yeah... uh hey, didn't you get your invitation? I know I asked Romain to send... Oh, you know what? He probably sent it to your Venezuela address. Yeah, dude, sorry, man.... Yeah, we're all missing you here. We'll totally do it up next time though, bro. Totally."

  8. Gotta love Daniel with the whole bottle in his hand. And he still has the prize for the best podium comment in F1 history (Melbourne): "I'm trippin' balls!".

And yeah: will the owner of the plane, please stagger to the front ;-p
