Felipe Massa's annual charity kart race paid tribute to Schumacher

While the ninth edition of Felipe Massa's charity kart race did not have quite as many international stars as it has had in the past, it was a good show none the less.

Current and former F1 drivers joined Massa in a tribute to Michael Schumacher. Among them, Jules Bianchi, Rubens Barrichello, Vito Liuzzi, Sebastian Buemi, Nelson Piquet Jr., Bruno Senna, Lucas De Grassi, Ricardo Zonta, Luciano Burti all of them, along with a bunch of touring car drivers, had at it without giving each other much quarter.

Put a bunch pro racers in karts and it's bound to be fun. Pro tip for F1, want more "show"? Rather than the idiotic double point rule, try putting everyone in streamlined karts an let them have at it for points!

  1. A great gesture from Massa. I know Felipe is frustrated to lose his Ferrari drive, but like the line in The Outsiders..."nothing gold can stay." Through the inevitability of life, time forces one to move on. Felipe could play a strong role in helping to bring back Williams to their early-mid 90's form. We'll see. I think Schumi's really in the fight of his life. When his wife told everyone to go home, I didn't take that as a good sign. And it was nice to see Liuzzi win the big kart race. I remember a few years back when he was Scott Speed's teammate. I had high hopes for Scott Speed. Like when Snoop Dog referred to Eminem as "The Great White Hope" for rappers, I likewise considered Scott Speed "The Great American Hope" for Formula 1. Man...my reasoning was really fucked up. :o(

Someone said: "It was pure driving, pure racing....there was no politics, no money"

Also it was nice to see Vito racing in the top again.
