2011 German GP Qualifying

Webber/Germany

That was one unenthusiastic and cold radio transmission between the RedBull pit wall and Mark Webber after he set pole. Wrong Red Bull on pole again? Hard to say. While it looks like Red Bull had been holding something in reserve in practice, it's hard to say who biased their setup for the rain that may come tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton put aside his constant whining and complaining long enough to put in a spectacular lap, pulverizing Jenson Button and setting up what will be a fantastic first lap tomorrow.

Vettel may be in cruise and conserve mode, he has everything to lose and nothing gain fighting for the lead tomorrow. on the other hand I'm sure he would like to win in GErmany....should be fun!

  1. I really dislike Christian Horner, so unenthusiastic when it comes to Webber.

Not surprised that Webber is on pole, his first win was here, will probably lose position to Lewis and Alonso at the start though. Me thinks Alonso for the win.

Funnily enough, of all people Schumi, Nico, and Massa don't look like they have a wet set-up, really quick through the trap.

  2. I'd love to have seen this blogs response if it was Hamilton who claimed all week that "We are faster than Ferrari" to only be out-qualified by a Ferrari in the end. "Douchebag Hamilton is wrong again! What an idiot!"

  3. God, Ham fanboys are just a whiny and paranoid as he is!

Here's Alonso's quote from Friday, where does it say they were faster than anyone?..... LOL

Fernando Alonso (2nd, 1:31.879): "A normal sort of Friday just like any other. First impressions from the car are good, which confirms that we are working in the right direction. I've said it before, it's not a case of a miracle having happened at Silverstone, because of the regulations relating to the exhausts. That result was down to the many improvements introduced race after race, as could be seen from the fact that, even from Monaco, we had returned to a good level in terms of being competitive and here too, where we are back to the Valencia rules, we are at the front end of the field. In theory, the cold is not a friend to us: in these conditions, the Red Bull has even more of an edge, but it's up to us to adapt as well as possible to these conditions. On top of that, the low temperatures can also impact on our strategy for qualifying, given it's not easy to do a time right from the first timed lap. It if was to rain, the situation would be even more complicated. The incident with Michael? Nothing happened, maybe he didn't see me coming and then I had to brake suddenly. And then, on a Friday much like any other, a bit of excitement is quite welcome..."

  6. It wasn't quite a perfect lap, as the commentators were so eager to gush. It was very very good, but a little wide of apex in the Dunlop Kurve probably cost him the pole, or at least a two tenths or so.

  7. I like Webber, but his starts always seem to be lacking. A case of nerves or Red Bull goofing with his clutch settings (just joking, had to throw that in). Another funny thought: what if Webber is in the lead with a few laps remaining and Vettel is charging hard, will Horner tell Vettel to maintain gap? Don't think so.

  8. @DM you may be joking but something always seems to go wrong with Webber's car. Of course RB deny but then again they did say they would NEVER use team orders...

  9. I await the Axis negative slant on a faultless drive from hot head Hamilton.

  10. @DM well Christian Horner gave Mark his word that if that were the case, He would tell Vettel to maintain the gap. Fair treatment I suppose. Will he actually do it? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
