Stage is set for F1 finale

F1 Abu Dhabi Hi-Res 002

Nightmare scenario for Webber who will be starting not just behind Alonso but Button as well. While Alonso just needs to shadow Webber to win the title, Vettel and Hamilton both need to win and hope others have problems so expect fireworks from those two if they get close.

Webber was the only only one of the contenders who did not better his time on the last try. Alonso, who was fifth as he began his final lap with 3 seconds to spare, managed to find a crucial 3/10ths that put him ahead of Button and on the "clean" side of the grid, right behind Vettel.

Tomorrow should be great fun.

  1. I don't understand this blog at all! You grill hamilton all year for pretty unremarkable things, but when he actually is being an idiot you don't post the videos?! I'm not angry, just disappointed.

  2. I can't win can I? I was going to post a clip of him saying Alonso passed him in Brazil on a straight because his car was not fast enough, and back it with the Massa incident today but hey, if I had to catalog every time Hamilton does something silly and then cries about it... :)

  3. Nevermind what the other Anon said AC, just keep doing what you do. This is an awesome blog. Like what someone else said in a previous post, if we wanted some watered down politically correct view of all things racing we'd go somewhere else.

  4. lolz. I'm sorry about that earlier post. A little displaced frustration. Practice was on a little too early in the states, and I missed hamilton's incidents. I was hoping to catch them here as you normally have the clips that matter.

  5. Best on-track camera clip ever, I reckon. He nailed it! Very funny in light of Chandhok's comments during practice about how Massa is normally the one who goes out and gets rid of the bollards for everyone else.

  6. I love the F1 coverage here. I was rooting for Webber but i've seen too much... i don't know, passive-aggressive body language from him when dealing with Vittel this year. I couldn't stand Vittel but now, i'm starting to accept the obnoxious dork that he is. So go Alonso, i guess.

I also like the videos here. I'll go back to lurking now, maybe i'll post again next year. :)
