Instruction FAIL

This Instructosaurus is hopefully extinct by now...

(disclaimer: there is some loud swearing at the beginning... just in case you need to adjust the volume. On a side note: wicked microphone placement, that's crystal clear on the voices!)

  2. Driver should've just made him get out halfway through the lap. What a dickhead.

  3. I must admit I'm stuggling to see what the driver did wrong, the gearchanges sounded reasonably well matched, the line taken was smooth and precise and all the instructor has done is whinge and moan and not actually contribute anything.

  4. i would have let hm out mid track. he's supposed to be instructing, not riding along.

  5. mind you this was on the outlap! I can't imagine how someone can screw up that bad on a warm up lap, after seeing that I'd advocate for students being allowed ejector seats :p I have to give this student some top marks for restraint, I probably would have had something to say to that guy...

  6. Did I miss the part where he did something wrong?

  8. The only thing that I can see is that when he exited the pit he merged right into the racing line and probably was supposed to stay to the outside thus why he said "your not supposed to apex here", but even if that was true he should have told him what he did wrong.

Maybe after that point he was just really upset at how he took the first corner, and decided to blow off the rest of the lap....idk

  9. I guess the instructor missed out on the whole "instruction" concept...

  10. Some people have short fuses, and if the student blended in where he wasn't supposed to right off the bat, the instructor likely felt he lost control of his student right then. Of course, he didn't really, but I bet that was his perception: -((instructor thinks to self: better reel this kid in with some useful, wise instruction))- "....Have you ever heard of 'smooth?'" Yeah that's a song by Santana and Rob Thomas. Pitiful instruction.

  11. You can't blame the first time student here for forgetting to stay on the outside if the instructor, after saying he was "just going to watch him for a lap" was ragging on him in the pit out about his shifting....

  12. Instructor probably drives a Porsche. I say we get a rope and find a tree.

  13. I've raced on that track many times and saw nothing excessivly wrong with his driving. Er go, the instructor [who did NOT instruct] is a douche-bag. High marks for the driver not loosing it and telling the [so called] instructor where to get off. [I probably would have...]

  14. The student wasn't supposed to apex T1 on the out lap, but he was distracted by the instructor attacking him on his shifts. In the rest of the lap, despite of the rat of an instructor sitting next to him, the student did quite well for his first day at a track.

Sadly, instructors like these are out there and will continue to do their thing. Even if HOD kicks him out, this very same instructor will likely be instructing with other groups, and students who are not as strong as the one in the clip will be turned off the sport before they even started.
