That music makes for a very cheesy feel. The Crossfire comparison seems apt.
What a beautiful track to photograph cars though... I think it's Mas Du Clos
"Sterling" would hopefully feel the lines of the car don't flow at all and Mercedes is trying to leg hump their golden era a little too much. Don't they know that only American companies get away with that?
Yes the car looks awful, but from what I've read the car drives great!Kudos to Mercedes Benz for at least trying hard to build a proper Sportscar (unlike BMW, who doesn't give a sh#t anymore about building a sportscar)
I see a little doge viper. some crossfire
Wasn't a viper chassis the test bed for the SLS? As for the video - it's very....German. Sans Hasselhoff in a leather suit it couldn't be more so. CG - I agree that BMW need to be building true sports cars and yes, the SLS drives well, but wouldn't you agree that a company like Mercedes shouldn't be falling into the blatant retro trend like everyone else? I mean, if you're behind Ford and their retro push with the Mustang or Dodge with the Challenger - perhaps it isn't the route you should be taking.
"Hey, bend over" ... the door handle is down there.
Murph, I agree on the retro trend fiasco. Seems that they all hire the same crappy consultant market research company for their focus groups!!BTW, I've never heard from people I know that buys plenty of these type cars and whose opinion I respect, to have been called for market research!! Who do they call/interview? Puff Daddy?
This car will end up smashed into a tree or house or rock in the case of jalopniks slr guy as most people who can afford this car probably will run out of talent before the car does. I think you'll see people like diddy Who will probably never take the car to a track or get it above 70 buying it. Too bad because I spoke to some journalists who loved it and couldn't say enough good things about it.
