Win a chance to drive a Williams F1 car!

I really want an Axis reader to win this! This is one fantastic online competition from Philips and Williams F1:

The Prize, a couple of days at the Philips Driving Academy driving Caterhams, Palmers and Formula Jaguars.

If you cut it then you get to drive five laps in a Williams F1 car. Let's see you make fun of Kazuki Nakajima after that! (did I mention this would be in November...in the UK?)

Enter the competition and read all the details HERE

And here is the rest of it.

  1. Have started practicing. Time so far VERY average I'm sure - two goes and down to a 1.46. Need to work harder on the shifts. My tip (to be tried when a colleague arrives at the office) is that two people (one steering, one shifting) will improve things).

  2. my best was a 1:20. I have another 5 seconds in my I know it. It is all about soft eyes. you need to look at nothing and see everything. I know I could do this if given the chance.

  4. I'm having no luck and my gear changes always jump in 2's so I only have 1st, 3rd, 5th.

    Anyone else having similar issue?

That's why I never talk bad about any F1 driver, because the times all 20 drivers post are incredible. And Nakajima has completed a lot of races this season, I doubt I could do two laps.

  7. Found out the gears work fine in IE but not in Firefox. Down to a 1.20 first time in IE.

  8. OK, 1.17.20 is the best I'm going to manage this evening. Can anyone find the T&C's? I'm keen to see if actual game time is the main competition enrty mechanic or just a tool used to keep people engaged with the site but the actual winners are random pick or something?

Thanks for linking to this AC. Gives me a chance to dream that I might actually drive an F1 car (that same recurring dream I've been having for 30+ years ;-)

  10. That looks like a fantastic time to me. I didn't get any more time to try so am hoping that actual times aren't the only factor determining the shortlist (secretly hoping they Google names and somehow see I can steer a real race car :-)

But 1.12.20 sounds great so good luck.

  11. in T&Cs is written that the 10 fastest will win.
I'm sure that 1.12.20 can be topped because my time was not 100% without mistakes.
