Winter break: Let's go down the Hahnenkamm

Indulge me, I like to post at least one great skiing video a year. After all, downhill and car racing are very much related in many ways, ask Luc Alphand for one.

Racing the Hahnenkamm in Kitzbühel, Austria is like racing at Indianapolis, Le Mans, Spa... It's just an amazing run: 2 miles with a maximum angle of 40.4 degrees! This year the race was won by Swiss Didier Defago. He hit 142km/h (88.5mph) on the "Zielshuss"!

This clip is from an inrepid reporter for Austria's ORF and V.I.O. makers of the POV1 camera. He's going very slow....

Yodel-ay-hee-hoo!

And here is the rest of it.

  1. I don't care how slow he's going-going down a run like that while holding a camera and giving commentary takes some balls.
