A vaguely incognito Kimi Raikkonen showed up to visit his countryman Anton Alen (son of legendary 80's rally driver, Markku Alen) at this week end's Rally du Valais in Switzerland.
In the end, he could not resist and had to have a seat inside Alen's Grande Punto Abarth 2000 running in the IRC series. OK, so he just sat in it but, a taste of things to come after 2010?

It would be awesome to see kimi in a rally car...except that we wouldn't actually get to see him drive in the states...

Not having WRC on TV here in the US is really a shame.
ReplyDeleteRaikkonen has already expressed an interest in rallying, perhaps inspired by his older brother, and spurred on by the fact Malcolm Wilson has informally offered the current F1 World Champion to test one of the Ford Focus WRC cars. Reigning World Rally champion Sebastien Loeb is also open to the idea of Raikkonen.
