DIY Piston repair.

Say you burned a hole in your piston and you had more time on your hands than cash in your pocket, well then you might try something like this guy did.

The piston is from a 1998 Honda CR80R motor and the baffled mechanic who's shop this landed in posted it to general amazement on the WERA forums.

Now to the, a-hem... burning question, did it run?

"Why, yes, it did, somewhat. Bike would crank up and idle, but would start pinging once the bolt got hot." Reports poster dtalbott. "Kid wanted to ride, I guess, and had no money."
