After changing my underwear I managed to get a couple of good shots of the painful aftermath. Dragging a 458 down the hill upside down? Really? LOL

The video does not fairly relay the steepness of the grade; one second I'm shooting, the next I'm looking at a formerly beautiful Ferrari 458 spinning high in the air right over my head!
To have been taken out by a Ferrari that I was not even driving would have been exceptionally cruel LOL
That's karma... for using those sort of graphics in a perfectly good 458. Even so, sliding the car on the roof was a little "over the top". It hurt! Couldn't they roll it first?
ReplyDeleteDid you note the driver's door flying open at 1:55 in that video? There's a lot of g-force at the bottom of the corkscrew.
ReplyDeleteIf you look at the clip just before the 1:55 door flying open, you'll see the same car get tagged at the top of the corkscrew. Must have damaged the door catch. The guy ran about 5 laps with his door opening at the bottom of the screw, before he disappeared. Likely was black-flagged though I don't know for sure.

Anyone else concerned about how long it took for the marshalls to get there? If there had been a fire, or more serious issue, that would become a bad situation fast.

ReplyDeleteThat's what I was about to say. Unfortunately, I was there, standing at that same spot, when Rodriguez's accident happened. It's good that they moved the wall back but it still seems like they could do more. It is a moment that will live with me for the rest of my life. RIP Gonchi.
